This scholarship is available for outstanding students who have achieved exceptional academic results and who can demonstrate a passion for their subject through professional work experience, volunteering or extracurricular projects and activities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be an international student from any country outside the UK and EU.
- You must have received an offer to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught course at Aston University starting in January 2024 or September 2024.
- You must have achieved or be expected to achieve high academic qualifications equivalent to UK 1st class Honours for undergraduate applicants or UK merit or distinction for postgraduate applicants.
- You must have a strong personal statement that showcases your academic achievements, professional experience, extracurricular activities and career goals.
- You must not be in receipt of any other scholarship or bursary from Aston University or any other source.

Financial Coverage
The Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship is a partial scholarship that covers £10,000 of the tuition fees for one year of study. The scholarship is not renewable and does not cover any other costs such as living expenses, travel expenses, books or equipment. The scholarship will be deducted from the tuition fees before enrolment.
Requirement
To apply for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:
- You must have applied for and received an offer for an undergraduate or postgraduate taught course at Aston University through the online application system.
- You must complete and submit the online scholarship application form by the deadline.
- You must provide evidence of your academic qualifications, such as transcripts, certificates or diplomas.
- You must provide a personal statement of no more than 500 words that explains why you are applying for the scholarship, how you meet the eligibility criteria and how the scholarship will help you achieve your academic and career goals.
- You must provide two references from academic or professional sources that can attest to your academic ability and potential.

Application Procedure
How to Apply
The application procedure for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship is as follows:
- Apply for an undergraduate or postgraduate taught course at Aston University through the online application system.
- Receive an offer letter from Aston University by email.
- Complete and submit the online scholarship application form by the deadline. The link to the application form can be found here.
- Upload your supporting documents as part of the application form.
- Wait for the outcome of your scholarship application. The scholarship committee will review all applications and select the most deserving candidates based on their academic merit and personal statement. The decision will be communicated to you by email within four weeks of the deadline.
Deadline
The deadline to apply for the Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship depends on the start date of your course. For courses starting in January 2024, the deadline is Monday 2 October 2023. For courses starting in September 2024, the deadline is Monday 2 April 2024. No late applications will be accepted.
